Conifer Systems looks to help lower carbon emissions to create a more sustainable future. This year’s official Earth Day theme is Invest in Our Planet. Conifer Systems lives that message every day by highlighting partnerships with organizations that are focusing on alternative sources of fuel, energy reduction, and minimizing carbon footprints. In honor of Earth Day and the celebration of environmental protection, Conifer Systems has chosen to support the Nature Conservancy.  

The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy works towards finding solutions to climate and biodiversity climates. They are advancing effective conservation in more than 70 countries and territories. The organization works everywhere from dense rainforests and remote coral reefs to the hearts of major cities. Green Mountain Energy Earth Day

Saturday, April 22 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM FREE | JONES LAWN AT DISCOVERY GREEN The Water Works Festival will bring their interactive exhibits to Discovery Green to educate families about this vital natural resource. Expect family-friendly performances, live music, art installations, face painting, crafts, and activities.

Earth Day Celebration

Saturday, April 22 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM FREE | HOUSTON ARBORETUM & NATURE CENTER Enjoy interactive booths, nature hikes, fun displays in the Discovery Room, and learn how to be a hero for our planet. Special guest Smokey Bear will be on site with Texas A&M Forest Service. Food trucks Mesquite Wood-fired Pizza and Berry’s Ices will be in attendance as well.

Urban Harvest Earth Day Plant Swap

Give a plant, take a plant at Urban Harvest’s plant swap. Bring in a plant and exchange it for something you else to take part in a fun way to reuse and recycle. Tools, pots, and soil are also acceptable to exchange.
