Conifer Systems attended the North American Mine Ventilation Symposium (NAMVS). The event was held from June 17th through June 22nd in Rapid City, SD. It was hosted by the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration Inc. (SME) and South Dakota Mines.
What is NAVMS?
The North American Mine Ventilation Symposiums (NAMVS) has sought to provide mine ventilation engineers and technicians in the underground coal, metal, and industrial mineral mining industry with the latest information and operating practices from the field and promote the exchange of ideas and research in a variety of related areas to include the monitoring of air contaminants, determining fresh air requirements, and producing power efficient ventilation and cooling systems and energy-related topics.
Conifer Systems is proud to have sponsored this event as a coffee break sponsor on Wednesday. We also had the chance to host a lightning session held by Paulo Oliveira on Wednesday, June 21st. This exciting opportunity allowed us to discuss our use of the Aeros MineOx solution in the first-of-its-kind trona mining solution with like-minded industry professionals. Our innovative equipment is pre-engineered to allow for lower costs and shorter lead times than our competitors. This allows facilities to be up and running sooner and reduce their carbon footprint quicker than other custom-engineered solutions.
Conifer Systems has been focusing on the abatement of fugitive emissions including the destruction of methane in mine ventilations. This endeavor directly correlates to our missions of reducing carbon emissions and creating a more sustainable future.
The Society for Mining, Metallurgy, & Exploration strives to inspire mining professionals worldwide. The organization’s goal is to better the world through mining, metallurgy, and related activities. SME is dedicated to creating an environment that is based on diversity to reach their goals of bettering the world.
